Availability
- Is GTA 6 out yet?
- No. GTA 6 releases on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders are open, but the game itself cannot be played or downloaded before that date.
- Can I download GTA 6 yet?
- No. There is no GTA 6 download available on any platform, official or otherwise. Pre-orders are open, and pre-load for those pre-orders is reported to begin 12 November 2026 — a week before release. Anything offering a GTA 6 download, APK, ISO or early build today is a scam.
- Is GTA 6 free?
- No. GTA 6 is a paid release priced at $79.99 for the Standard Edition or $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. It has not been announced for any subscription service, so there is no free route to the game.
- Can I play GTA 6 early?
- No legitimate early access exists. Rockstar has not announced a beta, early access programme or launch-week trial. In September 2026 the official GTA 6 account posted 'GTA 6 has been leaked' as a joke, which is not a form of early access.
Platforms & PC
- Is GTA 6 on PC?
- Not announced. Rockstar has confirmed GTA 6 only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC release date, storefront listing or system requirement has been published, so any site claiming a PC download is not telling the truth.
- Is GTA 6 on Steam?
- No. There is no Steam page for GTA 6 because no PC version has been announced. Search results and ads pointing to a 'Steam download' for GTA 6 lead to scam pages, not to Valve.
- Will GTA 6 be on Xbox Game Pass?
- Not announced. Neither Microsoft nor Rockstar has confirmed GTA 6 for Game Pass, and a first-party launch on subscription would be unusual for a Take-Two title. Until one of them says otherwise, assume it is a full-price purchase.
- Will GTA 6 support mods on PC?
- Unanswered. There is no announced PC version, so there is nothing to say about mod support. Rockstar's previous PC releases arrived with a single-player mod scene, but that is an expectation, not an announcement.
Dates & money
- How much does GTA 6 cost?
- $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition in the US. Ultimate adds in-game content; neither tier buys early access, and Rockstar has not published a higher collector's tier on official storefronts.
- Can I pre-order GTA 6?
- Yes. Pre-orders have been open since 25 June 2026 through the Rockstar Store, PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store and authorised physical retailers for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Boxed copies ship as a download code with no disc inside, so check that you are comfortable with it before paying a retailer premium.
- Why was GTA 6 delayed?
- Rockstar cited the time needed to polish and complete a game of this scale in both delay announcements, with the second delay — from May to November 2026 — described as protecting the quality of the final product. No technical or commercial reasons beyond that were made public.
Technical
- What are GTA 6's system requirements?
- Unknown, because no PC version has been announced, so Rockstar has published no requirements at all. Our requirements page separates the official facts from the estimates we make by extrapolating from the current hardware generation.
- Is downloading GTA 6 from unofficial sites dangerous?
- Yes. Because no copy of GTA 6 exists, any file offered as one is necessarily something else: malware, credential stealers, or a pay-for-nothing scam. A widely reported January 2026 case involved a 'GTA 6 early access' storefront charging about $130 per order with no refunds.
- Will GTA 6 support mods on PC?
- Unanswered. There is no announced PC version, so there is nothing to say about mod support. Rockstar's previous PC releases arrived with a single-player mod scene, but that is an expectation, not an announcement.
